New Orleans was warm around the Christmas time, but it was just as festive as any other city. Beautiful gold, red, green, and silver decorations covered the streets and even though there was no snow, the weather was still cold. Allegra Astrean was walking through the streets, her yellow eyes bright and cheerful as she called Christmas wishes to everyone that passed. She was carrying a gaily wrapped present and a pot of cheese fondue and some bread to her friend Tehya Benoit’s house. Walking up to the house, the auburn-haired young woman went to knock, but it was opened by a smiling brunette, her ponytails bobbing excitedly.
"Hi there Allegra, Merry Christmas, come on in,” Tehya said and opened the door to let her friend inside. “I just got done making dinner and yay; you brought your cheese fondue!”
“Yep, I thought that since we’re spending Christmas together that we should have some of my fondue!”
She bounced into the house cheerfully and took off her green winter coat and placed it on a hook. Tehya took the fondue and went into the kitchen, her socks making no sound against the wood floor. Allegra walked into the living room and took a look at the TV. The news said that a bizarre monster that resembled a large wreath was attacking downtown New Orleans. Running and slipping slightly on the wood floor, she reached the kitchen and tugged on the other girl’s arm.
“What’s the matter Allegra?” the brown-eyed girl demanded, adjusting the glasses she wore.
“A monster that’s shaped like a wreath,” Tehya giggled slightly. “Not funny, because it’s attacking downtown!”
“Looks like it’s up to us,” Tehya replied and removed her glasses, and took out her brooch. “Forever in Dreams! Imagination...Make Up!”
“Paint the Stars! Originality...Make Up!”
The two of them transformed into their Sailor forms, they were Sailor Imagination, and Sailor Originality. Hurrying to the place where the monster was attacking, Imagination held out her hand.
“Creativity is the Key!” and a pencil appeared in front of her as she grasped it, it grew into a sword.
Originality removed her paintbrush wand and they saw an enormous wreath attacking people by tying them together with holly leaves. She sweat-dropped and looked over at her partner, who also sweat-dropped and shook her head meaning that she didn’t get these monsters sometimes.
“Hey leaf head!” Originality shouted, running forward. “You are gonna regret attacking these people and taking me and my friend away from our fondue! I, Sailor Originality, shall punish you!”
“Oh boy, someone please shoot me now,” Imagination muttered, shaking her head at her friend’s expression. “You remind me of a little kid sometimes, Ori. As for you, I say what she said and, Artistic Floral Bind!”
Holding out her sword once more, Imi began to dance much a strange gig. The dance causes her to glow a light bluish tent, this color began to take effect as she drew small flowers around herself. The flowers follow behind her swaying with the rythme of her movements, mesmerized her target was held within place as the flowers slowly began to blossom into thorny vines. The vines wrap around her target holding them in place allowing Ori a chance at attack.Ori whooped and stepped forward as Imi smirked and stepped back, her sword at her side.“Paintbrush Meteor Shower!” Originality tossed her brush into the air, and it multiplied into hundreds of miniature brushes with pointy ends, that hovered in the air and turned towards the enemy. En route they became harsh beams of light that cut away at the enemy as they hurtled by. The wreath was destroyed and Ori whooped again, cheering and punching the air. Imi turned and grabbed Originality’s sleeve and dragged her away. When they were safely hidden, they transformed back and Allegra led her slightly-blind friend back. Once they were inside and the table was set, they exchanged presents. Allegra had given Tehya a beautiful painting and Tehya had given her friend a small book of the poems she had written.
“Oh Tey, this is great!” Allegra cried and hugged her friend. “Merry Christmas Tehya, and thank you!.”
“And a Merry Christmas to you too Allegra,” Tehya replied.
That night, the two of them spent the hours in front of the TV, drinking hot chocolate and just enjoying being together. It was indeed a very Merry Christmas for both of them.
